The history of the Ishpeming Ski Club (ISC) began with the organization of the Norden Ski Club on January 24, 1887. The name of the club was changed to the Ishpeming Ski Club in January of 1901. The National Ski Association, organized in Ishpeming in February of 1905, was later renamed the U.S. Ski Association, and is currently the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association. We Are Winter | Vol 1: Ishpeming Ski Club Located in Ishpeming, Michigan, the Ishpeming Ski Club is the last remaining ski jumping school in the state. The ISC has trained over two dozen World Champion and Olympic Class athletes throughout their 132 years as an organization and continue to keep the heritage, traditions, and teachings alive today thanks to their committed volunteer/staff base and generous community donations. Although, their Annual Ski Jumping Tournament held each year in late January is the fundraiser that keeps the ISC afloat.
