A livestreamed concert of the NMU Music Department’s Fall 2020 Percussion Ensemble.
The NMU Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. James A. Strain, will present its annual fall semester concert on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. The concert will be performed on standard percussion instruments such as drums, cymbals, gongs, marimbas, xylophones, bells, chimes and timpani. The music will include a variety of styles, including traditional rope drumming, dance rhythms for handclappers, a novelty xylophone duet, a renaissance madrigal arranged for marimba ensemble and Carlos Chavez’ “Toccata for Percussion Instruments.”
