A movement and dance class for those with Parkinson’s disease to help minimize symptoms
Dancing and Movement for Parkinson’s is a partnership between Lake Superior Hospice and Dance Zone . The program is based on research indicating the positive effects dance can have for people with Parkinson’s, including improved balance, cardiac health, mood and quality of life.
This course is based on the model initiated by the Mark Morris Dance Group in Brooklyn. Their program has been in existence for over sixteen years and has shown marked success in minimizing the effects of Parkinson’s. Your instructor, Marge Sklar, recently completed training in this style of dance.View more
