Growing up in Communism
Please note, this event has expired.
How did those who grew up in communist nations feel about their situation, their country and the Cold War itself.
The Cold War was on the surface a battle between freedom (capitalism) and tyranny (communism). But was it as simple as that. How did those who grew up in communist nations feel about their situation, their country and the Cold War itself. This program will look at the communist experience through the eyes of two NMU faculty members who grew up in that political system. The two speakers will be Dr. J. Marek Haltof, who grew up in Poland and Dr. Z.Z. Lehmberg, who grew up in China.
This program is part of the Center’s exhibition, “Cold War and the U.P.,” which will be open to viewView more
