Foreign Flicks

Foreign Flicks, a program dedicated to contemporary films from around the world, presents the 2005 historical drama Joyeux Noel on Monday, December 23 at 6:00 pm in the Peter White Public Library’s Community Room. This is a BYO dinner event.

French, Scottish and German troops declare an unofficial truce along the Western Front on December 24, 1914, to celebrate Christmas.  This French film directed by Christian Carion (in French with English subtitles) is rated PG-13 and runs for 116 minutes.

Joyeux Noel received six awards including a 2007 Peace award from the Political Film Society and two audience awards from Leeds and Santa Barbara International Film Festivals.
