CineArts--Amazing Grace

Biographical drama set in the late 1700s

CineArts Films, a series devoted to foreign and independent films, presents Amazing Grace on Friday, December 1 at 6:00 pm in the Peter White Public Library’s Community Room. This is a BYO dinner event.

In this 2006 biographical drama, idealist William Wilberforce attempts to end the British transatlantic slave trade in 1797. Although he faces intense opposition in the British Parliament, he is inspired by John Newton, the reformed slave ship captain who penned the great hymn, “Amazing Grace.”  This film is rated PG and runs for 1 hour 58 minutes.
