Community Art Wall

The Community Art Wall, hosted by the City of Marquette Arts & Culture Center, is a virtual art gallery featuring work submitted by Marquette County residents. Artwork will be added to the gallery on a rolling basis, with new exhibits introduced every few months.

This project was conceived as a new way to share local art during the COVID-19 pandemic, wherein art galleries across the country were forced to close their doors. While we don't plan for this to replace traditional, physical art galleries (we will continue with regular exhibits in the DEO Gallery in Peter White Public Library once it is deemed safe to do so), we hope this serves as a way for the community to support local artists and have something to reflect on, both present-day and in the future.

EXHIBIT: MARQUETTE MEMORY BOX

The inaugural Community Art Wall exhibit is in collaboration with the Marquette Memory Box project, co-organized by the City of Marquette Arts & Culture Center, Peter White Public Library, and Marquette Poets' Circle.

This exhibition features artwork submitted by Marquette County residents that was produced during the COVID-19 pandemic and social justice movements. We aspired to capture the emotions and responses to the challenges presented by these historical times, as well as how the challenges have affected our creative processes and practices. Please enjoy and share!

If you are interested in submitting work to this exhibition - and we hope that you do - please see the bottom of the page for more information.

Artists retain all copyrights to work submitted to the Marquette Memory Box. The City of Marquette, Peter White Public Library, and Marquette Poets' Circle reserve the right to use submissions for the promotional purposes of the Marquette Memory Box. We retain no copyrights to artists' work.
